Dear
SLC Staff
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Japan
Foundation for giving me the chance to study in Japan
on the "Long Term Training Program" (September 2002 -
March 2003).
It was a fantastic experience for me and the 34 other
students who came from all over the world. This great
programme allowed us to participate in and experience
many cultural activities such as home stay, watching sumo
and kabuki, Ikebana, Sado (the tea ceremony), Kitsuke
(kimono wearing) and shodo (calligraphy) just to name
a few. We were also extremely lucky to have been taken
on many excursions including a 5day trip to explore the
Kansai region and it's majestic culture.
However, more importantly, we were given the opportunity
to revise our Japanese and learn so much more about Japanese
language education throughout the world. Spending time
with people from other countries was very rewarding. We
were able to share teaching methods, ideas and could converse
in one common language Japanese. We had the privilege
to work with dedicated teachers, from whom I learnt some
extremely valuable lessons. Thank you to all the Urawa
Teachers and staff.
I cannot express enough my sincere gratitude to the Japan
Foundation in selecting me for this programme. My experience
was invaluable and I can't wait to show all the video
footage and photos to my students and share this experience
with them.
Here are some photos I took whilst in Japan.
Catch up with you soon!
