SBS broadcasts a Japanese Radio show every Tuesday night from 10pm.
Every program includes a complete round-up of homeland, international and national news. Interviews with a variety of people along with nostalgic and recent pop music are featured. Local talent is introduced and promoted whenever possible. A recent feature on the SBS Japanese Radio show has been excerpts from the 32nd National Japanese Language Speech Contest held in Sydney in October 2001. The reports, which began in November 2001 and continued into the New Year included speeches and interviews with contestants. Pictured is SBS Radio Reporter Yoko Davis with Northern Territory Representative Cameron Cilento.

I hope that you have all enjoyed your holidays and are all refreshed for a new year. Last year was an eventful one for the SLC with our tenth anniversary, and our celebrations have flowed into this year. The SLC held a Haiku Exhibition from January 14 - 31 with work from primary and high school students from around Australia, and will be holding a forum entitled " Senpai to Katarou" March 21 and 22. Look out for a full report on the forum in the next issue of Dear Sensei.
