第32回NSW州日本語弁論大会 |
|
The
32nd NSW Japanese Language Speech Contest
was held at the North Sydney Council, Fred Hutley Hall on Sunday
August 26. The Consul-General of Japan, Mr. Shigenobu Kato officially
opened the day's proceedings. This year there was a total of 40
contestants in the Senior, Open and Background Speaker Divisions
from all over NSW. It was wonderful to see so many enthusiastic
contestants and such a variety of speeches across the four divisions.
The judges were impressed with the high standard of Japanese and
the skill in public speaking displayed the contestants. The speeches
ranged from the thought-provoking to the amusing and were thoroughly
enjoyed by the audience. (Full details of each state's winners are
listed in Briefly). |

Trial
Speaking Exam as part of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test |
|
The Japanese Language Proficiency
Test is held every year worldwide to evaluate
and certify proficiency in Japanese of non-native speakers. At present
The Japanese Language Proficiency Test has no speaking component,
however, The Japan Foundation Japanese Language Institute, Kansai,
Examination Department is now making preparations for an 'oral
examination' as part of The Japanese Language Proficiency Test.
Last year a trial speaking exam was
held in Japan. This year trial examinations are also planned in
other countries. In Australia the trial speaking
exam was held at the Japan Foundation
Sydney Language Centre on September 22 and 23. It is hoped
that in the future an 'oral examination' will be included in the
test to give a clearer evaluation of examinees overall proficiency
in the Japanese language.
The Japanese Language Proficiency Test will
be held this year on Sunday December 2 in various centres around
the country. |

Website
Update |
|
It's
great that so many teachers are using our website, www.jpf.org.au
to find information and print off forms. We have added a new page
to the site that I am sure many teachers are going to find really
useful! The new 'Teaching Ideas' page!
With help from teachers who attended the July intensive seminar
here at the centre we have set up this new page with ideas that
they were happy to share and that you can use!
Open the web page, www.jpf.org.au
and click on the Sydney Language Centre icon. Click on Teaching
Ideas in the left column. You can print off the worksheets directly
from the site. Please remember to acknowledge the teacher who shared
the idea in your reproduction! We hope that you will benefit from
this new resource and that you too will be willing to share your
classroom ideas.
If you have any ideas you wish to share please email them to Lynsey_McGee@jpf.org.au
or send them by fax or mail to:
